That’s a cool story. I was happily wearing my Blundstones around St Kilda during those days. I remember around that time, and before, the women’s shoes available in stores were dainty ladies shoes – nothing heavy duty, no chunky and the only practical shoes were plain ugly, mannish variations on dainty. Was it also the British punk movement along with the STAH writers pollination of French couture with Australian style that finally blew those limitations away?

On that trip my friend and I collected enough images of the locals for a Men of Morocco calendar, almost rivalling Priests of the Vatican.

As I sit in the coffee shop of the National Library in Copenhagen I reflect on your style sense. Black skinny jeans (kmart $15) black fitted merino tshirt, dark blue leather sneakers with teal trim and possibly colored laces, black zip up merino cardigan, rhubarb (?) Long pashmina for sea and canal breezes. No backpack, no fanny pack, small black zippered wallet on a strap. (Credit card carried in the ever reliable bra-bank (trademark pending).
